well, the time has come for me to put my truck up on the market. i will be doing private party as i will not be trading it in for anything as i have a work truck.

so whats the best way to sell a truck w/o getting scammed? im thinking i will have the buyer cash their check at their own bank and hand me the cash. that way, my own bank account will not be linked to anything and i'll have cash in hand! say what you will, but i am very skeptical about any checks these days. it wouldnt be a big deal to get scammed on a little 20 CL deal, but this is my baby, dont want to be without money and my truck!

let me know what you guys think. also, if you guys know someone who is in the market for a sweet truck that runs great, pass the info along! below is a quick run down of the truck...but im sure many of you know me around here!

truck is an 05 prerunner SR5, 171xxx miles, great condition. changed oil every 5k and have an excel sheet of anything done to the truck. i'll be throwing it up for probably $14,000 or so. no trades, cash only! I am not parting any of this out, just simply listing the important stuff so i can get everyones mouths watering so i will sell the truck quick! check my build thread for pics!

F sus: camburg spindles, DR (Icon) coilovers, newer (~35k) OEM UCAs, SS brake lines
R sus: dakar leafs, OME shocks, ext rear SS brake lines
engine: AFE oilless air filter, OEM oil cooler, OEM trans cooler, iridium plugs, TRD exhaust,
ext: Very limited edition and coveted FJ TT gunmetal wheels, Nitto TG 285s, OEM white sport grille, OEM white sport bumper, OEM DTRL, 09 tails, OEM tow hitch (no wiring), full size 285 spare
int: blue LED swapped out cluster done my me!, OEM sport seats, OEM TRD seat covers, front weathertech floor liners, Pioneer stereo (DEHP-4300 IIRC), Polk db6501 components in the front, MTX amp for speakers, sub amp installed (no sub), sound deadened and closed cell foamed (doors, rear cab, headroof)

im sure there is more i am forgetting, but its a pretty sick truck!

get some pics and move this to the For Sale thread .. you will get better traffic there.

also, what is an "OEM upper spindle"? Do you mean upper control arm or 'UCA'?

it is in the socal section because i am asking advice on selling the truck in socal. this is also the reason it is not in the for sale section! nice catch on the UCAs (typed that on my phone and didnt proof read!)

so, any tips on accepting payment for a truck? dont want to get scammed.
