I've only used Toyota brand in all of my Toyota's but it cost about $24/gallon which sucks. I've never had a radiator problem with any of them.

I only use the Toyota stuff. It's expensive, but it's not like you have to change it very frequently.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
Don't mix them. "Regular" green and Yota pink/red don't mix. It will turn brown and sludgy.

Toyota pink/red does not contain silicates, which is why it is supposed to last longer (and be better than) the green on the cooling system. They do make a green that you can supposedly mix with the pink.

I have done all the hi-pro mods for a life time, since I got this truck at a great price, I will be happy with showroom new.
yes dont mix them, but it wasn't because i did not know, but this spring I flushed mine, and it was really dirty, and I did not know if the rad. was going to hold out, so I spent 3 days flushing, 2 things of flush, 14 gallons of distilled water, new rad hoses, thermostat, anyway I replaced with green,I already had it on hand, and have to try to save some money, it had "green if you want to call it that" in it but since the rad. seems to be holding up I am going to flush one more time and use
Zerex® Asian Vehicle Antifreeze / Coolant

they sell it at napa, and other places and cheaper.
its supposed to be the same, none of the stuff in standard green.

    For what it's worth:

    http://answers.edmunds.com/question...tifreeze-Could-type-antifreeze-use-32030.aspx

Your coolant is the Toyota Long Life Coolant antifreeze which is basically your normal ethyl glycol coolant minus the phosphate, silicate, and borate that is used in most anitfreeze as corrosion inhibitors. Supossedly, they substitute other additives. Prestone makes the identical long life ethyl glycol coolant minus the phosphate, silicate, and borate and it's called Prestone® Extended Life 5/150 Antifreeze/Coolant. I would use this Prestone as it is chemically identical to the Toyota Long Life and costs about half the price. I suspect Prestone actually makes the Toyoya stuff because I know it's made in the USA. More important than all of this is that you use distilled water as that really does protect your aluminum radiator from corrosion over time. I always add a bottle of Redline Water Wetter to my cars after I flush them as it helps cool the engine about another 10 degrees, but thats your option. The proper steps are 1. drain the old stuff 2. fill with distilled water and bring to operating temperature with the heater on high 3. drain the water 4. fill with 50/50 mix of new coolant and distilled water 5. Run up to operating temperature and top off Water Wetter and/or with new coolant mix.
