Started the truck up in the morning, cold start. Pulled out the drive and the truck bogged down hard, immediately threw a CEL. P0402. In the past it would bog for a few seconds if cold but would pick right up. Seems it lasts longer and longer now. It will not do this upon start up when the truck has been driven that day.

    P0402
EGR gas temp. sensor value is high during EGR cut–off when
engine is cold and vacuum is applied to port E
    (2 trip detection logic)
Short in EGR gas temp. sensor circuit
     EGR gas temp. sensor
Open in VSV circuit for EGR
     VSV for EGR
    EGR l i l ( 2ti d t ti l i )
valve is always open 2 trip detection logic) EGR valve stuck open
    ECM

Cleared code. No CEL rest of the day. Go to start the truck next morning. Bogged again, threw CEL immediately. Today, Same thing, cold start, this time I though it might stall. Bogged hard and long, took 2 mins or so before I gained power. When it bogs down when cold it feels like 3/4 loss of power.

Question: Without having to pay someone to hook up a diagnostic, any ideas on which part I could throw at the problem? Anyone with similar problem? Having issues on cold start point to one part or other? Looking under the hood at the egr & temp sensor and from the outside I cannot spot any damage.

:) I am sorry to see that you are having troubles. Your P0402 code is excessive flow detected in the EGR valve. First you need to read this link on your EGR system and included are methods to check your EGR and show you how to fix your problem. Here is the link : I hope this helps. Good Luck.
