I had my truck up on jack stands today to rotate my tires. I had the truck in 4 low and I was able to spin the front hubs in 4low when I was checking the torque on my spidertax spacers. Both tires spun at the same time and before this experience the hubs wouldn't spin like that when in 4 low. I'm not sure if I broke something or not. Any insight would help.

Putting the handle into the low position isnt enough to lock the hubs. The axle shafts have to be turned in order to lock them. That means you need to actually drive the vehicle a few feet in 4wd, or rotate the axles by hand.

Actually, just read again and may have further insight.
You are saying that you spin one wheel and the other turns? If that is the case, the hubs are both fully locked, and you simply have both wheels off the ground.... one wheel spinning opposite direction from other means the driveshaft is stationary and you are driving the other wheel through the differential.

I drove into my garage to rotate the tires, forgot to put it in 4lo until I was in the garage so I pushed the shifter into 4 low with clutch all the way down. Then the 4wd light came on and went a feet in reverse and then went forward a few feet.

Yes, I was spinning the driver's side wheel and the passenger side wheel was turning too. Both wheels were off the ground.

So I was just spinning both wheels through the differential? I feel stupid now

The fact that both wheels are turning isn't exactly a bad thing ....:D

You have auto locking hubs , is this correct ??

I'd say all is well, i'd be alot more worried if they didn't spin at all...

Yeah lol. I do have auto locking hubs. Thanks!

I was thinking it would have resistance and not spin when I torque the lugnuts like when you have one tire on the ground and the other off the ground (the one being torqued is off the ground of course).
