IVPressOnline – A man who sources confirmed was Imperial Irrigation District Director Anthony Sanchez is being sought in connection with a striking a child with a belt numerous times. Imperial County Sheriff’s officials are not releasing the name of the suspect and reportedly he is not in custody. The agency received a call about 1 a.m. today from a resident in Heber who said he had a video of a man striking a child with a belt a number of times, according to a statement from Lt. Scott Sheppeard. The video of the man hitting the child with the belt after he had dropped baseballs in the backyard of their home had been put on YouTube before the Sheriff’s Office was notified. The office has been investigating the incident since the time it was reported, he said. However, that is all the information that the agency could release at this time. Sources with the Imperial Irrigation District confirmed that the matter involved Director Anthony Sanchez.
