My TRD Supercharger Saga Over..Sort Of.

I have found rattles can be fixed by running the crap out of something. Loosen 'er up a bit. Giggidy.

 

If it was my truck and I was told you just got one of the models that make that funny sound. Some do it and some dont. You can bet your ass I wouldnt walk away with just a warranty that I most likely wont ever use anyway. If its a legitimate noise that doesnt belong there. Then it can/should be fixed.

 

I'll take the free warranty.I could have been told that's the way it is with nothing.At least they replaced the first unit with another one.Followed up with Toyota reps at the dealer.
Now I know it's not normal because I didn't have the shutdown two knock SC noise before.Also had some PMs and was told it's not normal but it is what it is but he truck runs fine.If the unit has a problem or dies,I'll get another and have a loaner.

Yeah. It's really surprising that toyota lets people do this.

Most car companies fully void your warranty with any kind of modification like this. The fact that toyota will install it, troubleshoot a rattle with a new unit then give you a 100K warranty on top of this is really amazing.

 

It may have something to do with the 5 Toyota vehicle purchases I've made since 2005.

Haha. I have only made 3 in the last 2 years. FJ, Taco, wife's Sequoia. Although we bought a Civic for my wife's parents from a toyota dealership . I have been eyeing the new Tundra though. mmmm

 

6" lift with a little shudder doesnt seem so bad.lol try a different dealer. east coast sux anyway. no way in hell would a just live/settle with the noise. rasie hell
