    make a ring out of plubbers putty and leave it soaking in water :D
    that should soften it up

    I dunno how much is a small amount, but on a daily basis I take a wet rag and with some elbow grease get paint smudges of the bedsides. Depends how long its been there though. Goof-off is probably the best and fastest bet, just put a little on a rag and wipe off the paint, follow up with some wax on the spot just to be safe.

    Then use a spatula. Spatula is a fun word, don't you agree.
