I'd drive one. Both the wife and I think it would be cool for a 3-4 day trip.

The crazy part is when I took my riding test the tester basically told me that to actually fail I would have to drop my bike. Those spyders would be a bitch in the slalom cones though.

Honestly I think they're pretty lame but I can see them being a good alternative for the physically disabled.
Never realized they only get 26mpg though, seems like they could have squeezed another 15mpg or so out of it.

 

I think they are like small cars and big women....

... If I drink enough, I always find myself in them.

 

I rode them at Daytona Bikeweek back in '08 and '09. I couldn't stand them. Rides like a fish. I.e. it sways left and right going down the road. They may have corrected the issue since, but back then it was a bitch to get one to go straight. The automatic tranny that was available was horrible. Stalled twice on me. Both times taking off from a full stop. The steering was rough and hard to turn at low speeds. And the seat was no picnic either. To me, my old '01 CBR 929 was more comfy and fun to ride. For $15,000+, I can think of better things to buy.

if you cant lane-split with it, why don't you just buy a convertible car...

 

In that case, a long ride on one would suck. I retract my original remark on possibly being good for a long ride. Will stick to the 2 wheels.

 

My dad has an RTS. He was hit by a drunk on his gold wing and can no longer hold up a two wheeler. I've rode it a few times and I love it. Takes a minute to get use to it but it is cool.

 

I want to drive one. I won't even give up motorcycles but I'd like to try one out for shits and grins. I don't think you should be able to take your motorcycle test on one... that's like taking your license exam using one of those auto park cars for the parallel parking section.

 

Agreed, trikes are the sock sandals of the motorcycle world.

 

Don't do it

 

Test rode one a month or so ago. SUCKED. Felt like a turd. Slow as shit. Feels like you're riding a quad down the road. MY arms were tired of turning about 15 minutes into the ride.

 

My dad wanted one of these awhile back.
