Charcoal Cannister Vent Tube issue..

Ok, so I have an 07 Tacoma that has the check engine light on, I took it to the dealer and was told at first the gas cap needed replacing...I did it. The check engine light goes off for like a day and then it comes back on. I take it back and I am now told that it is the charcoal canister vent tube that is blocked or obstructed, I'm told the tube is only $30.00 or so to purchase but that they have to take the entire bed of the truck off to get to it! They are saying $400.00 or so to take the bed off to repair a $30.00 piece! Is that right? And if so, what were the Toyota engineers thinking... not making a part that can go bad, accessible??? Any help would be appreciated evidently my check engine light will remain on until I correct this problem. Thanks in advance for the help...

 

Look under truck around tank and see if the vent tube popped off. Also never top off your fuel tank, when it clicks off, stop fueling. Overfilling tank can cause fuel to back-up into canister.
