So, it took 113 posts of absolute gibberish for the OP to decide he wants a DCLB Sport? We're slacking. He would have had better luck posting on /b/.

I did see the link. Dallas is a little far from SoCal, and I really don't want a truck with a hole cut in the front fender. I don't need/want a snorkel. Besides, if I have to spend 27K (+2K taxes) for a used truck that is 3 years old, has 50K miles, and has been submerged, I'm buying new.

The original point of the thread wasn't just to help me decide between the two, but mostly to describe the differences in a more clear and practical way.

    Thanks for all the responses.

I've had two 2nd gen Off Roads - I'm pretty hard on them and at 150k+ miles between em ... never a problem... despite it being a great idea... I've also never done the rear diff breather mod - I do, however change the diff fluids along w/ transfer case every 30k miles... If I were to buy new again, I'd be stoked to get the Atrac!

Going from the '05 to the '10 (with A-TRAC) was like going to a completly different truck even though they were indenticle looking on the outside (4 door, silver)... Don't get me wrong, the '05 was great and the rear locker allowed it to go anywhere with only a few temporary stucks... but the addition of the TRAC limited spin in high range and the A-TRAC no spin in low range really is noticed right away in severe off road situations of poor traction. The only thing better would be an inch or more additional ground clearance... 9.25" is not always enough where I like to go!
