Anyone have any info about Maine exhaust laws? I looked them and got this:

    1. Muffler required. A person may not operate a motor vehicle unless that vehicle is equipped with an adequate muffler properly maintained to prevent excessive or unusual noise. For purposes of this subsection, “excessive or unusual noise” includes motor noise emitted by a motor vehicle that is
noticeably louder than similar vehicles in the environment.

    3. Amplification prohibited. A person may not operate a motor vehicle with an exhaust system that has been modified to amplify when the result of that modification is the amplification or increase the of noise emitted by the motor above that emitted by the muffler originally installed on the
    vehicle.

Seems like a pretty vague description of exhaust limitations to me. Reason I ask is because I am considering getting the Magnaflow 17115 Offroad muffler for my truck. Didn't know if anyone had any issues passing an inspection with an aftermarket exhaust? If so, please let me know what your issue was.

    Thanks, Jake

The other day, I finally took my Taco out to get dirty! I took a ride up to a few spots a friend showed me off the Golden Road to see what this thing can do. Since I am still stock, I didnt do anything too crazy but I was very impressed with what the stock truck can do. It was a fun day trip! I love the Moosehead/Baxter areas! They are beautiful! I will bring a camera next time.

You guys know any goos spots up that way or in southern Maine? Any good (or bad) stories to tell?

I spent the next day cleanig, waxing and detailing her!

I love this truck! I cant wait til next time! :woot:

Those woods roads up there are great Allagash, Telos, Chamberlin Lake... God's Country in my opinion. I have done some ATV riding in the rumford area. Trails are plenty big up there for our truck but I can't recall if they are posted as ATV trails only.... Anyone from that area with some intel?:spy:

Anything louder than stock is a violation. Assuming you aren't putting a fart can on it, i'd say the cops will leave you alone. i'd be more worried about passing inspection the louder it was.

^ Thanks for the advice. Its the Magnaflow 17115 exhaust and I don't think that falls under the "fart can" classification. We'll see though. Have a new problem at hand.

In other news...I need a little help here guys. Backed into a friggin pole yesterday and jacked up my rear bumper pretty good. Felt like a dumbass. I took it apart to asses the damage and I am definitely going to be needing a new skin, brace, and mounting brackets. Please let me know if any of you have one for sale as I am willing to travel. Don't really care about color, was planning on painting mine BSP anyway. Chrome is also an option as well. I appreciate the help.

I bought my first tacoma 2001 from portland berlin city. They are alright, i would highly reccomend prime toyota. I bought my 07 there and the main toyota mechanic (rick) is a great guy and knows these trucks better than most people. He is a member on ttora and rock crawls his 85 toyota pick up. They are very friendly there, and its a way nicer atmosphere while you are waiting for your truck. The dealership is located in saco. Berlin didnt do it for me, i personally wouldnt get my truck worked on over there. Hope this helps.
