I polish once a year in the spring. I then seal it and put on a couple of coats of a beauty way. I then wax every 4 to 6 weeks till October. In October I put on 2 to 3 coats of Fuzion that will take me through the winter.

I hear Meg's ultimate compound is the way to go for polishing? Any thoughts?

My truck is garaged every night. I use the California Duster daily and use a spray detailer or spray wax about once a week. However, if my truck gets wet I don't use the duster as the dirt sticks to the paint and then the duster doesn't really work, so I need to use soap and water.

Every cleaning method scratches your paint. It's unavoidable when there's dirt between your paint and your cleaning cloth/sponge. The only variable is how much does it scratch and how much do you care? I can go months without using soap and water on my truck and by dusting daily, my truck is perfectly clean every day.

I have a friend who has a black A/C Cobra replica and has never washed it with soap and water (he's had it for five years). He just dusts it and uses quick detailer. Is the paint perfect? No, but it is nearly perfect.

Like I've said in other posts...I like the '10-foot' rule. If it looks good from 10 feet away, that's good enough for me.

    Hi all.

    Each to their own ...
My truck is a DD and has to sit out in the elements - so ...

    - Daily
Quick detailer and microfiber any bugs, sap, or bird shit.
    - Weekly
Hand wash with car wash soap and dry with microfiber.
    Clean glass inside and out.
    Vacuum interior.
Wipe down jambs and rubber weatherstripping
    - Every 2 to 4 weeks
    Clean interior and engine bay.
    - Every 2 months
    Wax
    Treat rubber weatherstripping
    - Every 6 months
    Clay
    Sealer / Glaze
    Wax

I choose to use a sealer / glaze on step 2 of the semi-yearly 3 step because it doesn't remove any clear. If swirl removal is needed I substitute a mild polish for step 2.

    Cheers
    Ray.

Depends on how bad the finish is marred.

    Go to polish is Menzerna.
1st step is Menzerna Intensive Polish with an orange pad
2nd step is Menzernz Final Polish with a whte pad
Final step is Menzerna PO85RD with a blue pad

The 3oz is on sale for $40 I believe today is the last day. 3oz will put about 8-10 coats of wax on a Tacoma. Apply the wax as if it is gold, the thinner the layer of wax the better off you are. ;)

This is a hybred wax in that it is a mix of synthetic and carnuba waxes. Very long lasting with a nice clarity and depth to the finish. Really makes a metal mist color sparkle. I did my SIL's Jeep Liberty last week in Michigan. 2 coats of Zaino Z2P topped with 2 coats of Fuzion applied 16 hours apart.

I had a Gariot Garage buffer. After having this for 2 years now I wish I had optioned for the PC XP. I have an older PC that I use for the final polish step nowdays. I also have a Makita buffer that I use when needed.

I will probably buy another buffer next winter if it goes on sale,

Purchase Collinite 845. One of the longest lasting products available and cost you 1/10th of fuzion. 845 also looks great on white fwiw.
I'll meet up with you at one of the NJ meets and can discuss everything with you. Owned a detail biz for 5 years (online product sales) before I sold it and can give you any info you need. I think I even have some stuff hanging around that you can have if you want.

i wipe mines down everyday after work. Usually wax it every week with a paste wax. Only wash my truck if it rains. Not worth wiping it down after that.

Well my little Taco lovers.... I've figured it out!!!' mind you this is all relative to each person but I found my medium!!!! Through help from you guys I, this is what I did.. I let my truck get dirty for a week. Finally the wax I ordered came in so it was time to detail. I washed it with Meg's gold, Clayed, used a pre-wax paint polish, then waxed with Fuzion. My truck is absolutely GORGIOUS!!!! I've never been more proud of a truck! I'm gonna wipe it down once or twice a week with Meg's detailer. Wash every other and wax every month. Before I gave it it's first "real" detail, I debadged her and this baby is becoming more like "my" truck. I put a heavy duty full size cargo net on and I'm thrilled. Sorry no pics but a bad storm in S. Jerz knocked power out Sat. and we're still without :( I took em but can't post yet. 4 days without power and this is the happiest I've been

Seems like the Fuzion did a nice job on white. I may use it on my Sisters car this week. I have been using Souveran Liquid wax on her car with excellent results.
