Lithium batteries have some advantages over nicad, but also have some disadvantages.

advantages - lighter, longer aH ratings (greater run time), better charge (wont build memory), the ability to produce more amps

disadvantages - cost more, needs electronics to monitor charge/discharge (the electronics are reliable, but another thing to go bad), more combustible (the element is more unstable)

    I have to disagree

Dewalt has gone to shit over the last few years

Mikita's newer 18volt lith batters are great.

I go though a set about once a year. And I'll keep buying Mikita. They last longer and take more abuse than Dewalt

Dewalt makes a great double bevel miter saw. I'll give them that.

mikita all the way, i have 2 now love em. no to dawalt, to big. good luck. by the way for truck tires you might see a short life on the drll if you remove lots of lugs with the. not that heavy duty. get a mikita heavy duty impact for that.

Had to edit this after seeing your last post

You took the words out of my mouth

If your dealing with car lugs. Get the snap on cordless.

That thing is a monster , But it's designed for that kind of stuff

Will these things actually do the same work as air driven tools?

I have about 15 Millwaukee cordless impact drives at work, three in each van they get a lot of daily abuse. We have tried every one of the major brands and none have been as reliable and had consistent torque throughout the battery cycle.
