I just bought a yakima outdoorsman and am going to put it on soon. But I have a dilemma, I have a UWS low pro tool box and I don't know whether to take it off and mount to the ends of the bed or to leave it on and just mount from there back. I will be using the rack mainly for kayak transportation, but I may get a basket or maybe some a bicycle rack. FWIW the rail to rail distance with the tool box on is 44" and around 64" with the tool box gone.

Can you post a link or something about price and where you got it? Thanks

I would do it with the tool box. It would give you more room up front to push the kayak forward.

Post pics of your set up.

I got it off craigslist. Ill take pics tomorrow morning. Its a little dark right now. I really like the rack a lot. It really isn't meant for 2nd gens but all you have to do is drill a 1/2 inch hole in the rail system. Very sturdy, I can shake the whole truck with the rack. I highly suggest this system.
