Hey all-new Toyota owner from GA here. I just traded my 2008 Ford F150 4x4 for a 2012 Tacoma Double Cab. Long story short, I loved the Ford, but I simply didn't need that much of a truck!

My wife and I considered several crew cab trucks (Frontier, Dakota, etc), but we ended up settling on the Tacoma. We loved the Toyota so much that we didn't even have to drive it to decide that we wanted it! I've owned it for a a little over a week now, and I think it is the best vehicle I have ever owned.

Toyotas are pricey, but I look at it like an investment-with Toyota's reputation, this truck should outlast me!

I forgot to mention that I used the 4x4 exactly zero times in the year that I owned the Ford. Plus, it had an extended cab, and my wife is pregnant with our first child, so I needed 4 full doors anyway.

Also, I went from 13 mpg to about 20 mpg (I only drive in town) with my 2.7L 4-banger. It's much better suited to my needs.

I forgot to add that small trucks rule! I'm not an especially big guy, so the Tacoma fits me a lot better than that Ford tank. I had a Mazda B-series before, and I missed being able to reach pretty much everything in the truck from the driver's seat.
