ok, I have a problem that I need some help with. I am trying to hook the universal axxess up to my 09 tacoma. I am installing a Kenwood double din which works fine. Now just trying to get the darn steering wheel controls to work.
My question. The instructions that I have say to green/orange wire of the ASWC to Pin 7 of the vehicle radio connector. Then there is a drawing of the connector and under it, it says "this is the pin view of the connector in the vehicle". Should I be holding the connector in my hand with the end that plugs into the radio facing me to find pen 7? If that is the case, there is no pin in that hole. If I flip the connector around where the wires are facing me, pin 7 is there so I hook it all up and it does not sense the steering wheel controls...even with the resister connected and all of the other wires.. It tries but does not stay red at the end of the programming. If I count the wires on the bottom over to pin seven, it is a green wire which is a speaker wire...is this where it shoud go?

Anyone got any pointers? I am at wits end and about to just call it a day and maybe have someone do it for me.

    update:
aswc green/oragne to the violet/white wire
awsc black/green to the yellow/blue (no yellow/black like another post said) but the yellow/blue has steering remote marked on the cable
    put the resistor in line

I got the light to stay red this time which indicates it is programmed.

wrong - cannot use the steering controls.

by the way, another post said to put the white/red wires of the vehicle and the black from the aswc to ground with the head unit. I have no white/red wire on my vehicle wiring harnes at the radio.

    still confused.
