I am looking to do a few weekend camping trips. I would like to buy a slide in/ small pop up camper but having a lot of trouble finding one.

I thought of an idea, because I already have a ARE tonneau cover. Has anyone tried to make a soft cover sides and door using the open hard cover as a roof ??? Seems to me, with a little knowledge of sewing it could be done. waterproofing and attaching to cover maybe a problem.....

Anyway, thats still on the drawing broad, Any ideas, makes and model for a ready made slide camper that a tacoma AC can handle ???

    Thanks in advance
    JIM

hmm your ARE tonneau would do better than my folding backflip, i felt like i was sleeping in a coffin, but if it's a temporary thing, you can just tarp the whole thing, cost about 5-10bucks, i would think that be the cheapest, easiest solution, tarp might scratch the paint a bit though

How big of slide-in camper are you looking for?
I have a Pastime Camper. Also S & S makes a camper that fits on our tacoma's. There are some other companies that make large canopies/campers (Panther and Smithbuilt)
