Auto's are a differant story. I do know that there is/was an issue with the S/C and ECU reflash if you had the gas pedal ECU reflash done on an automatic.

I dont know why you would get that done on a manual anyways. Every time I go in I tell them not to touch my gas pedal or ECU for that recall, I know how to push my clutch in if my engine decides to go bonkers. One place told me that they were required to cut the gas pedal. My response to that was to smile and say if you're required to cut the gas pedal then I am required to remove your hands from your wrists using the same saw you touch my gas pedal with."

The technician just kinda blinked and was like "OK, so no gas pedal cutting, gotcha!"

You still should have called TRD and Toyota and spoke with them directly.

Similar to the issue I had.

I have a 5-speed Auto that was never flashed. When I drove the truck for the ECU flash after I installed the S/C myself they couldn't flash it. No matter what flash they tried or anything it wouldn't work. Turns out the software on the ECU was corrupted but only the part that communicates with techstream.

They ended up replacing my ECU under warranty but I wonder if that is the issue they are running into?

The tech never mentioned anything about corruption in the program. He was able to get the calibration ID out if the ECU and said it was 30450200
