    So I dont know much about the tacos, so this is all new to me. Im just wondering if my truck has the trd short throw shifter on it, or if its just the ball.

    I'm not sure but this is the google image of a short throw shifter for tacoma, so I would say yes

    I kinda thought it did have the short throw. So the stock throw must be like a dump truck lol. Sorry for the dumb/noob questions.

    Other than the knob, it looks to be the same height lever as stock. But, I don't think the overall height changes with a TRD short shifter. An easy way to find out for sure would be to measure front-back travel from 1st to 2nd. If you have a 6 speed, I can measure mine for comparison. Sounds dirty but isn't. :eek:

    landphil's way is prob easier, but u could also just go to the dealer and drive a similar truck

    Lol I would drive a similar truck at the dealer/my work but right now we dont have any tacos for some reason

    Well my shifter looks just like that with the TRD knob and it's not a short throw. The first to second throw is long. :cool:
