    Hey all,

I just bought a 2005 Double Cab Tacoma. This is the first nice car I have ever bought and I am more excited then ever. It was a quick sale but I got a great price. I have no idea what is on this truck. It has the TRD Sport package but the only way I know this is the sticker. All the mods; wheels & tires, suspension, exhaust, and CAI are not TRD. It also does not have a rear locking differential. Is this really a TRD Truck? Also, since it is 2wd is it considered a Prerunner? Sorry for the low quality pic. Thanks for the help.

    welcome

    2wd = Prerunner, yes

Locking diff = TRD Off-Road only, not available on TRD Sport

To verify it's a TRD Sport you should at least have a hood skewp, powerpoint in the bed, an overhead console with temp/compass, fogs, color-matched bumper, door handles, grille, and mirrors, and sport seats with adjustable lumbar. They also have special 17" wheels, but yours have already been changed.

Looks to me like it's a legit TRD Sport.

The only thing that looks out of place on your truck for a Sport model would be the chrome rear bumper...that should be body color on a Sport model. Maybe it was damaged and replaced?

Nice looking truck...like the wheels a lot.

    wow, I totally missed that.

looking at the scoop a little closer it looks aftermarket too .. instead of a smooth transition into the hood it looks like a sharp lip .. like those glue-on scoops

    I wonder....

Awesome it is definitely a TRD Sport. Thanks for the clarification.

Welcome...can you take a picture of the hood scoop? It looks like one of those stock on ones, which will explain the chrome rear bumper.

I just walked out and checked the hood scoop. It seems to be the stock hood for TRD trucks but what do I know. I also took a look under the rear bumper and there was no damage but it does look like it is a new bumper. I did the carfax on the truck and it came up clean. Maybe a small fender bender. I will take some more photos and post later today so you guys can really help me figure out what this truck has going for it. Thanks again.

Edit: the hood scoop is part of the hood.

Yeah, I'm still guessing it's a real Sport, but the scoop does look funny (maybe just light reflecting weirdly).

Easiest way to know for sure is if there is the power outlet in the bed. No one would take the time to add that in there.

I got an '05 Sport I just purchased in April and it has color matched bumper...

OP, this is a hard one. You got the color matched handles and grill, which is notorious to the sports... But the chrome bumper is throwing me off. And the skewp does appear to be stick on, but maybe that's because of the picture... Either way, beautiful truck! Whoever had it before you tastefully modded it...

Alright here are some pics. If you can tell whats goin on with my suspension please let me know. I would think its a leveling kit but who knows. Also the pic of the hose is from my CAI. Does this need to be fixed or is this how some CAIs work?
