The wife and went from Phoenix to the petrified/forest. Then we went northwest to Tuba City and back down through Flagstaff. Going up the hills the truck did not seem to have allot of power. So I the dealership install a supercharger. My Questions are....

    1. I feel a vibration in the brake pedal from the supercharger. Should I be feeling vibrations from the supercharger?

    2. Iridium plugs were installed. When do these need to be changed? I am guessing 100k later from looking at the service interval for the 4 banger taco.

    3. How the heel do you change the plugs on the drivers side? I think you have to pull the supercharger to get to them.

    4. Should I get ditch the stock exhaust?

I am attaching photos of the trip and truck because I know everyone likes pictures.

    1. Nothing that is happening in the supercharger is going to effect the brakes. If you feel a vibration in the brakes, I would be looking at the front rotors/pads.

    2. You don't have a 4 banger, you have a V6 and I would change them every 30k.

    3. Plenty of room!

    4. That is a personal opinion and it depends what you want from the vehicle and if you can handle the drone of aftermarket exhausts.

    Good luck!!

    Thanks for the reply!

    1. The vibration from the brake pedal is not from the brakes. I feels like the fire wall is vibrating. I am not apply presure to the brakes when I feel this. Are you having any vibrations from SC?

    2. I mentioned the 4 banger because they come stock with iridium plugs. I am sure they last longer than 30k.

    3. Man there is little space with the SC. Have you changed plugs since SC.

What did you think of the pictures. Arizona is freaken beutifull. Love taking this truck out into the desert. Thanks again for the reply.

    1. I got the same vibrations after installing my S/C. I think it has something to do with the brake booster and other things. I have tried to get rid of it but it just seems to be there and it is something I have come to live with.

    2. I would check them at the 30k and see their condition. I will probably change mine every 60k unless I feel the performance is suffering due to old plugs.

    3. If you don't use a long extension you should have no problem reaching the plugs. After I completed the installation of the S/C I went around and re-tightened every bolt I could reach which included the spark plugs.

    4. If you want a specific sound from the exhaust, go for it. The performance gains from a cat-back exhaust are slim to none so I wouldn't focus on that.

Awesome pictures BTW, I just have crappy suburb houses around me.

The real question is - Did the supercharger improve your power in the hills? :)

What what the total cost of install if you don't mind me asking?

The vibration is from the supercharge and it's being passed to the reservoir from the hoses and your feeling it in the brake pedal due to the reservoir being mounted on the master cylinder

    Hmm
I specifically looked for this today and do not have any
vibration at all. Boost PSI is good too, so it isn't
    under performing.

I have the whistling sound on idle which is annoying, but oh well.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
I would check the MAF Ducting, Supercharger and Throttle Body are bolted tight and all the vacuum lines are tight and have no leaks. Supercharged vehicles don't like vacuum leaks.

Ya know I am military so I travel from state to state. I have found people who have lived there entire lives in one state do not realize what is around them. When I was in PA wife kept saying how beautiful it was there. The people that lived there whole lives there looked at us like we were weird. Went to Gettysburg, New York X2 and DC X3. My buddy from the state never did any of this. DC and NY are 4 hours from where we were at. Take that for what it is.
Thanks for the answer on the vibes and thanks for protecting our citizens!

I have only had the SC for 3 days. Next road trip I take through some mountains and higher elevation I will take some mental notes and send you a message telling you what I think. The hills I was referring to were by Flag Staff, AZ. Elevation signs said 6000. I went through Flag Staff on my way to the Grand Canyon with my MazdaSpeed 3 and I guess I was comparing the two. In my defense my wife drove most of that and said the truck was struggling. She also said its a truck and not the Speed3.

I traded the Speed3 and sold my 1997 Tacoma to buy this truck. See pictures below. (Because everyone likes pictures), Was bored one weekend so I painted the axle on the Tacoma. My Neighbors think I am some sort of mechanic or some such shit.

Don,t mind at all. Bought and installed at Earnhardt Toyota of Mesa AZ. There sell stuff online. I normally would not advertise for a business but the install price was the cheapest I have heard of (mostly this forum) and the customer service was good so.....

    Supercharger with install kit -$3795.00
    Labor for install -$390.00
    Tax -$343.45
    total out the door -$4528.45

Service rep told me that he gets allot Canadians during the winter to install SC to avoid paying the higher cost they charge in Canada. The Canadians are supposed to claim and pay a tariff on everything they bought in the USA when crossing the border. But do custom inspectors know what a supercharger under the hood looks like? I guess the Canadians come here during the winter to get away from the cold in Canada. I have bullshitted with some of them on the trails around her in Phoenix. Meet one couple in there 70's with a small dog on four wheeler going through the desert. There is life after 45. also service rep said they charge a different rate for installing accessories which the SC is considered. He also said he has had persons from neighboring states drive here to get the SC installed.

While driving around today I also looked for brake vibration at a variety of speeds and gears and could not find a thing.

Interesting. I had the TRD exhaust installed with the supercharger. The tech doing the installation said having the exhaust was a good move as the trucks that don't have it would whistle after install. I had no idea what he was talking about or what the source was. My truck doesn't whistle at all.

Go to a Tom Wood's one piece driveshaft. Especially if you have an automatic.
