    im thinking about smoking my taillights, going with an all black and white on my truck, about how much does it cost to get them done? and has anyone done them at home? easy, hard? look crappy??

    I used the VHT Niteshades at home... It looked more glassy then the ones above, in my opinion looks good.

    I noticed jjust about everyone here recommends VHT Nightshade...but other forums I'm stand by vinyl.religiously. I am one of them

    Vinyl iis easy and you can't mess it up. VHT just looks weird and ttoo much of a matte finish,even with a glossy clear coat.

    One thing abt tinting/smoking your tails to something other than red,you'll risk the chance of getting rear ended and being found liable. It has happened before.

    Some of the new cars & suv now have dark tails right off the lot, My ? is if I get rear ended:eek:, Who is on the hook, I did not make the thing!!!

    no clear coat, I did their candy nightshades and black nightshades on my tail lights

    Your color depth is perfect imo. I also like the way you left the reverse lights. What did you use/how did you block off them off when yoou sprayed?

    Kinda off topic... Anyone tinted stock 05-08s on Radiant Red taco's?. I kinda want to do something to mine but I haven't figured out what yet.

    Well,I'm sure the manufacturers made the rails to be DOT compliant. Must be seen from 600ft away.

    I noticed a lot of ccars using VHT,that the output is really killed,esp during the day time.

    Just regular painters tape cut with an exacto knife lol 3 hrs worth of work


    Also I tinted with black the sanded the led circle down a few times 4 coats total just so that my brake lights are seen a little more.
