Hey guys, this is my first post on this forum but I have found alot of helpful info already. I have a silver 04 4door 4x4 tacoma with black accessories and just bought a toolbox off of craigslist that is silver diamond plate. I want to black it out but not sure whether to get it black powdercoated or get a spray on bedliner put on it. Looking for durability and looks. What do yall think? Thanks

Powder coat looks way way better. It's also pretty pricey.

Are you thinking of just rattle can bed liner or getting it done professionally? Cause if dome by a pro I bet the price point is close.

Powder coat is actually pretty durable as is bed liner.

Honestly for a tool box tho, I'd go powder coat. It'll look much better

Im going to get it professionally done either way. The guy I called about prices said $5 per sq ft for powder coat and $160 for the bedliner inside and out.

id bed line the inside and powder coat the outside.

but thats just me. and would also probably be the most expensive route as well. but it will look damn good and be tough as hell.

I was just worried about the powdercoat chipping or flaking off. I googled it and read that some people had problems with that.

I would think if its done right it would be really tough, powdercoating can be very durable. And yea bedlining the inside and powdercoating the outside would be awesome like Maverick904 said.
