I have a 2000 prerunner, my daughter was driving it and it just quit. I put it on computer and it read "no rpm". I've checked timing and compression and fuel pressure, all good. I've replaced the coils, crank sensor, cam sensor and ecu... It sounds like it"s out of time but all marks are on the spot.... What else could it be ?????

First let us get you on the right page, the data stream on a scanner that shows engine RPM is directly related to the crankshaft position sensor signal. If you have no RPM, then it will have nothing to do with your coils or spark plugs or plug wires or timing chain/belt, etc....

I would suggest looking inside the hole where the crank sensor sits. See if you can see the reluctor that triggers the sensor. Have someone crank the engine over while using a mirror or something to look inside the opening. If you cant see the reluctor moving then it may have disconnected from the crankshaft. If you DO see it moving, reinstall the sensor and check again on your engine data. If you still see no RPM, then disconnect your PCM connector and connect a multimeter set on AC voltage between terminals 11 and 17. Crank the engine over for several turns and see if you have a signal on the multimeter (probably will be in the low volts range) If you have signal, then your sensor and wires are good, and the failure is in the PCM. At this point I would suggest taking it to a dealer or repair facility that can replace and program the ECM after verifying the failure.

If you do NOT have signal, then you need to check continuity of the wires from the sensor to the PCM. (terminals 11 and 17 of the PCM) You want to make sure there is continuity between terminal 11 (the green wire) and it's match, the green wire on the crankshaft connector. Then check the same on terminal 17 of the PCM (red wire) and IT'S match on the crankshaft sensor connector. Let us know what you find!

Thanks for info, will check that.. We already replaced the sensor on crank, cam and even put an ecm in it.......

If you have done the ECM and the crank sensor, then I would worry about the wiring, or the reluctor. This is of course assuming that your ONLY problem in the data stream is lack of crank RPM.
