Exhaust... so far... Remember folks, bought it for a work truck!
Hey y'all! Been cruising the forums for awhile now to find answers here and there and figured it was time to join!

First off let me begin by saying that for as young as I am I have built everything I have ever owned, aside from my 05 Tacoma PreRunner. I originally bought the truck for a gas saver when my Silverado with a 383 stroker was costing me 65 dollars a day to contract out of for work.

With that said, I can never leave ANYTHING I own stock and within weeks decided to do a cat back exhaust. I picked up a magnaflow muffler and installed it myself, like always. Instead of leaving the stock tail pipe I did a shorty exhaust because in my old school training of mechanics less restriction equals more power... Well now with my exhaust significantly shorter and with less back pressure my truck is short shifting. It sounds great but I really have to put my foot in it to get it to run. From a lunch it has absolutely NO BALLS.

    HEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!

Nothing wrong with the exhaust, I bet. The ECU hates change.

Disconnect the battery neg terminal for 10 minutes, put back together, and then just normally drive how you're going to. It'll suck the gas and run like crud for a few hundred miles before it gets the maps adjusted to the engine again.

Thanks, that's what I figured as well so I disconnected the battery immediately afterwards. I drive roughly 100 miles a day for work and it is returning to normal shifting very slowly. Shifting is still really soft, though. I took the truck out last night for its first taste of some dirt and man was I impressed. Even for owning a 2WD it went everywhere!!!!
