You should spell TACOMA backwards so people can read it in their rearview mirror. :D

    Thanks
There is a lot thread about Satoshi:
    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/138130-satoshi-grill.html

I just got the lettering and used the 3M two side tape and some very fine wires and attached the letters to the mesh.

You could also buy the satoshi grill from HomerTaco and attach the letters to it

Let me know if you have more question

Looks great OP. Glad to see these start showing up here and there.

After being occupied with other projects and responsibilities, I should finally be able to get back on track with finishing my original Raptor style grill project.

Cool! IMO, it would look better with black letters - more subtle. With the letters being that big, I think the red is too much. But damn! Nice work!

    G'day all,

I'm an advocate of the Satoshi style grilles and find I find that style of grille allows for a lot on personal individualism, if so desired.

I've read every Satoshi thread here and conclude there is a tremendous amount of creativity exhibited on this board.

I myself was originally inspired by Cape Codder's efforts and HomeTaco's thread, so I jumped on the Satoshi bandwagon.

I did note, having a 2011, the difference in the material used in the 2011 grille vs lower years. It's much easier to work a 2010 grille vs the 2011. So I got a 2010 grille and started work. Picture of first Satoshi attached.

I've learned, over time, impossible is only a degree of difficulty and persistence, perseverance, creativity and a little stubbornness usually pays off.

That said, and when time permitted, I jumped on my 2011 grille. Initially, I ordered a GrillCraft Grille for the outer perimeter, cut the grille center out and installed. Easy work, and looks pretty good, even did the cut out TOYOTA letters.

However, after reading the Raptor Satoshi innovation, I thought, there's a challenge. I re-attacked the 2011 grille.

Admittedly, a little more fiberglass work is required to work the 2011 grille, but it's do able.

By chance, I noticed the GrillCraft grille could fit nicely behind the grille with a just a little fiberglass creativity. The GrillCraft grille is pretty ridged and adds stability when attached to the plastic grille.

So the fiberglassing commenced. In the mean time I needed some letters. Quarter in plexiglass works great. I designed what I thought were the appropriate size and shaped letters by hand ( pencil and graph paper) cut them out, sanded, painted and attached them to the GrillCraft grille. The "Raptor" style results are attached.

I really appreciate all the shared Satoshi methods, styles and innovations, thanks.

    Cheers
