I'm considering purchasing a used truck cap for my 2012, 6' bed, tacoma.
Ive searched the forum for installation info, but I could not find. Maybe I overlooked. I'm fairly handy, but I want to make sure I dont get in over my head trying to install this.

If anyone can point me in the right direction, that would be appreciated.

Here is the truck cap Im looking at (found on craigslist). Offered $300 as I would need to paint and would need to replace one piece of glass. http://chicago.craigslist.org/wcl/pts/3128400929.html

    Thanks much in advance
    Scott

Just 4 clamps that attach to the bed rail, you can see the clamps in the 2nd picture of the ad. Ask the seller if he is including the clamps and/or if he can help you install the cap because you usually need 2 people to lift the cap.

On something other than a 2nd gen Taco with a steel bedrail lip. I used those exact clamps on my last two trucks (GMC and Ford).

In the pic on the right, you can see the clamps. They should utilize the bed rail system and should be a quick and easy install.

I hope you priced out a new piece of glass and a paint job, that could end up being another $500 easily (paint jobs can vary quite a bit depending on how much prep is needed and quality of the paints used.

You can get the camper clamps that slide into the rail from Bestop but last I checked they were $25 each

I'm hoping to be the seller now! I believe I've seen something like it on my searches. Anyone have a link to these? Thanks much, Zac808 (is that your name + your fave drum machine?)

Those style aren't my choice (had those, didn't like them). These are a little different and what I currently run:

Thanks, Jman - I believe those are exactly what the previous owner installed with, but in black. He had to use the (plywood) spacers because the clamp doesn't pinch down far enough. Likely works fine for thicker mounting caps, but not this one.
