All of them are ugly as hell. But, you know if toyota builds it someone will also be making a lift kit for it. Then they will be lifted and have 24" wheels on them. OMG!

I wouldn't lump the Avalanche in with those personally. They're still a truck to me. Didn't they even make a 3/4 ton version of the 1st gen Avalanche?

As far as the unibody thing if there's the market for more of these trucks than I have no problem with Kia jumping in. I wouldn't buy a unibody truck myself. I wouldn't mind a new turbo Optima for a DD though.

    You never know about things.

The Swiss watch industry (finest in the world at the time) said "that's not a real watch" when the electonic quartz crystal movements were introduced (by Japan?).

And look where that got them today, almost extinct.

I saw one of these Ford Falcon based trucks, similar to the Chevy El Camino, here in Sarasota over the week-end; must be imported from Australia. Not my style, but still pretty impressive. They used to be unibody, but I see this one has a seperate bed.

As mentioned earlier, a unibody truck has a market that exists, but is different from the regular truck market...
I want a truck that can haul a stack of lumber or other things that do not fit well in an SUV or trunk, and getting 30 mpg is a big plus too. Carrying 4 people is important also. The ABAT can do all of this. Will I tow a car, large boat, 5th wheel, etc? No. Will I go off-roading? No. Will I drive it in snow like I do with my Rav4? Yes.
You wouldn't compare a truck to a sports car, so why would you compare a unibody truck or SUV to a full frame off-road capable truck? I wouldnt buy a unibody truck and expect it to do the same things a full frame truck can do...but a full frame truck cannot get 30 mpg and cost less than 25k. Also, the ridgeline is ugly, but the ABAT is not. There is a certain sportiness to it.

3" OME lift with 885 coils on nitrocharger 90000 shocks with 5mm trim packer on driver's side, TC UCAs, Rear OME Dakar leafs with nitrocharger shocks, All-pro U-bolt flip kit and 3* Toytec shims, extended rear brakelines, 16" Raceline Rockcrusher 887 wheels with 3.6" backspacking, BFG KM2 305/70/16 tires, Doug Thorley header, Doug Thorley catback exhaust, Volant CAI with ram air, Weathertech floor mats, Kicker 12" sub, Kenwood 500W RMS amp, Relentless Fab front and rear bumpers, 4.88 gears, custom flatbed with swing out tire carrier
I like the A-BAT the best :crapstorm:. It would be a good second vehicle to take to the snow, etc. And then I could have my 2nd gen as a dedicated trail rig. I've always thought the A-BAT looked good, and honestly, I would be very tempted to buy one if they produced it.

edit: Leave it stock of course. Modding it would be embarassing.
