If you're going to have the front clamshell open already for a re-gear, you might as well throw a locker in there. Just my .02$

I have to agree, I would imagine if your concerned enough to re-gear, you probably do a decent amount of offroad driving and if you continue with that pastime you will need/want that front locker at some point, makes sense to do it all at once.

Good call on the nitro gears, just need to decide if 4.56 will be the end game or if 4.88's is going to be a better option especially for those on 35's.

I don't see the need. The truck has plenty of traction for what I plan on doing with it, which is what I already do with it. The value is obvious for the guys without any front traction aids from factory. I think it's much less obvious for 09+ OR trim trucks.

Another year or so when the truck's paid off I'll be picking something up to cage and roll.

The truck has almost 25,000mi on it. I bought it new. I'm simply not interested in axle swapping it and getting on stuff harder than what I do now. I'll have another vehicle for that.

Edit: I guess also: Bump, GLWS.

This is the debate. I find myself thinking about the folks dropping tons of money on a truck who's overall dimensions is a greater hindrance than its ability to keep all four tires on the ground and moving forward.

Perhaps the reality is the truck is almost as good as its going to get right off the showroom floor and all these aftermarket parts are being added to simply allow it to go a few more places that a stock jeep can get to.

    Just a thought.............

Still a good deal on the locker though and a free bump :)

My time with the truck has led me to a similar state of mind. I like it as an overland/base camp/rescue/bad weather vehicle.

For harder than moderate trails, I think something you don't mind rolling, setting on fire, and leaving there is more apropros. If this truck had 150k on it and we'd been together for 10+ years already, that would be one thing. As it stands, I still have a drivetrain warranty and like the look and streetability of the truck too much to worry about making it more offroad capable.

Mines close to where I envisioned it when I started the build. Pretty soon it'll be in maintenance mode and most of my effort will head to some other project.

    Free bump!
