I am considering the purchase of a lid to my Tacoma. I like the undercover reviews, look and ease to remove it. What I don't like is the dual locking mechanism. It seems a pain to lock the on two sides compared to the Leer or Snugtop with only one locking mechanism.

    Any opinions?

You'd want the undercover SE. It has a single handle in the middle.

They offer the SE in the regular finish and the "smooth" that you can (must) paint to match.

It is easy to put on and remove. I'm a little person and I can do it by myself.

The undercover SE has a single locking mechanism.

I have the Undercover Classic, not a pain to lock on both sides...I think it might be more secure having two locking points

x2. I've never used their "one-lock" lid, but my Classic isn't bad at all. Takes 10 seconds and I know its secure on both sides. I'm just used to it now - my $0.02 :notsure:

really now? are we that lazy that we can't spend an extra 5-10 seconds to lock another lock?

I have the SE. Single lock but latches the lock on either end of the bed so it's very secure.

Talk about being lazy and unlocking two locks. I was to lazy to take the two keys off the same key ring and store one away in case i lost it. Too late. I'll say this about the undercover classic, it's a bitch to get into without a key.

two locks is not a problem at all. you'll get used to it. keep in mind that leer or snugtop are made of fiberglass and it's heavy as hell. you can't remove and install it by yourself. undercover only weights about 50lbs maybe less. very easy to do it solo.

I've had my hardcover Tonneau for almost a year, it's great. It was one of the first things that I had bought when I got my Tacoma. Taking it off is easy, just under a minute.
