I was told by the salesman when I bought my truck that only my phone would work on bluetooth but no bluetooth audio. WRONG!

I kept seeing "BT AUDIO NOT AVAILABLE" as I was scrolling through the stereo menu and hooked it up today! Super easy and now I can actually change from album to album without unplugging my iPhone.

    Small victories...

Thanks! I did find after a long drive that I lose some volume through the Bluetooth as opposed to using the USB cable. It's not THAT much but every little bit counts on the stock SR5 stereo head unit.

I bought a Sony aftermarket head unit that has Bluetooth audio. It's my favorite part of the radio. The cab is far less cluttered without the cords and the sound quality is better.

I did the ol Pepsi challenge by using the Bluetooth option then plugging the phone into the USB port during the same song. Hands down, USB was louder. Again, we're talking about the stock SR5 unit which lacks top end power anyway. I'll have to test it out on my db meter on my phone.

Are you guys talking about SR5's with BT built into the radio or rather the trucks with the separate stand alone BT insert which is located in the button blanks near the VSC and clutch start cancel buttons on the extreme left side of the dash?

I ask only because I have the standalone BT module and it works fabulous. Any sound which my iphone makes, whether an FB status update or blasting my tunes comes through with ease and clarity. In fact, I also have an ipod harddock cable which is installed in the glovebox. I keep an older ipod classic hardplugged into that all the time. I also then have my iphone which of course is BT capable. If I want to listen to the hardwired ipod I simply press the appropriate button on the face of the stock radio. If I prefer to listen to stuff on my iphone or internet radio (eg:pandora), I simply press the BT standalone button and - viola, the iphone seemlessly takes over.

When listening to the audio from my iphone over BT, the volume is much louder than anything coming from the radio or hardwire connection; strange since the amp in the car is the same.

    Mine is 100% stock.
