well i'm thinking of going a couple of ways with mine and none of them are halogen so it will require them to be cut and modified any how.

the rear of the housing is either going to get filled with vision-x solstice prime led pods or either the mini H1 or ap1 s2k it depends on my funds.

the s2k's are going to be wicked but pricey.

    This is good advice.

Also, if you want a more mixed beam, Hella makes some good stuff. You can look into a cornering light if you do a lot of windy back roads. You can have a driving beam which is a good all-purpose light, or a pencil beam for long distance.

Lightforce is closest to a pencil beam. There isn't really a formed light beam with them, they are basically a gigantic Maglite. Not the best for curvy stuff, but they will throw a lot of light a long distance. Light and durable too.

I had some, and removed them. At shorter ranges (less than 500' LOL) they are too "spotty", and the spots attract your eyes. More uniform light for anything but all-out straight is better, IMHO.

LEDs look great for trails and stuff. If you're a desert racer, some Lightforces with a LED lightbar for closer range would probably be the ticket.

*Be careful with "fog" lights. If it's an actual fog pattern, it's probably not what you want.

Yeah, my 240's had clear combo filters. I never tried them without the combo filters, actually. It does disperse the light a little and probably helps a lot from spot covers, but the lights are still extremely spotty. The giant Maglite analogy is no joke!

When I had them, I adjusted one for spot and one for "wide" (as wide as you can with Lightforce). They did a great job of illuminating highway as far as you could ever want (I don't think I ever drove a straight that wasn't illuminated). But, in the Pacific Northwest, I drive a lot of windy back roads, and they just aren't well suited to that.

I've had mine on since the first group buy on here and I drive on the crappiest roads here in Norfolk. I've had no issues with mine so far and for about 75 bucks each I think the output is great.
