Keep my GLI, or get a 2009? 2010? 2012?

    Hey all,

I am in a tough spot and need some guidance. Obviously this forum is heavily biased but try to be level headed when posting your choice.

I currently have a 2012 VW GLI (sport model Jetta) lowered on rims.
The car is paid off and a blast to drive.

I also have a 1992 4Runner that i use for camping and hauling my mountain bike around.

I feel that having 2 cars is a little excessive (since I have a work supplied truck to get to/from work), so both my 4runner/GLI are "pleasure" vehicles.

I currently have both insured so the insurance is a tad bit high. I was tossing the idea around of buying a DCSB Tacoma which does what both my vehicles currently do. Haul 4 people around comfortably and do camping/mountain biking.

I have had 3 decent offers lately on 3 different DCSB Tacoma's.

First off, the GLI is a 2012 costing roughly $29,000 CDN 9 months ago and will be traded in on any Tacoma. I am having such a rough time deciding because I am taking such a big hit on ththe VW.

    Current vehicles.

    Anyway, on with the show.

    First option.

    2009 DCSB Sr5 6speed manual
    105,000 KM (60,000miles)
School Principle owned, commuted to work, dealership serviced.
rear view camera, tow package, brand new 31" BFG AT's.

    Truck Price - $24500.
    Trade in Price - $21500.
    Out of pocket - $3000+tax.

    Second option.

    2010 DCSB Sr5 6-speed manual
    34,000km or 21,000 miles
    No tow package or rearview.

    Truck price - $28500
    Trade in Price -$21,000
Out of pocket - $7500+ tax

    Third Option

    2012 DCSB Sr5 6-speed manual
    Silver
    100km.
    rearview camera,bluetooth,towpackage ect.

    Truck price - 31,000 destination+pdi+tax ect.
Truck price before tax - 32,760.
    Dealership savings - $2000
    Trade in price - $21000
    Out of pocket - $9760+tax.

I am leaning toward option 1, or just keeping the Jetta and 4runner.

The Jetta currently has rims and suspension I could easily sell for $2000, the 4Runner is worth ~$3000 and I would save $1500/year by only having one insurance.

    Your thoughts?
