color matching paint for my truck

If I go to a paint shop to get a few cans of color matched spray paint cans, what will i need to bring? Will I have to know the color code for my truck? ( I have no clue where I can find it. DESERT SAND MICA

 

You can find your paint code inside your door jamb. When you open the driver door, below the door latch is a sticker with the vehicle VIN, manufacturing information etc., and the paint code is on there. Desert Sand Mica should be 4Q2, per the chart below. Just confirm if this is on your sticker.

 

Should be on a label when u open the drivers side door,i think some of the auto parts stores have the toyota color matched cans, a little pricey

Was the paint perfect compared to the factory finish?

 

I just bought a small bottle of paint from automotivetouchup.com and it was perfect. Color is timberland mica and it was right on.
