No I mean the idea that ceramic pads come factory on any car. I'd think they would try and crap out on you and do nice pads but nothing thta nice. Aren't ceramic pads like really high performance expensive stuff? Or am I thinking like ceramic pads AND rotors?
Sweet! Good to hear it's working perfectly perfect again.

well, when I came back from work today in the afternoon and I pulled into the driveway and no squeal!!! I was happy. So maybe a hour ago I took her out for another spin (what can I say, I love driving my truck), and guess what, Mr. Squeals starts off again nagging at every stop, but this time it is not as loud as before. So I figure I do what tacomaman06 recommended again. This time I did at 40mph and came to a firm stop. After doing this 4-5, the squeal seem to stop!!! So I was kinda of doing this dance :yay: . So the real test again is tomorrow morning. I'll let you guys know what happens.

    Thanks for all the advice.

well, my brakes are still squealing. i have put 220 miles on it so far. You guys think that he might need to re-machine the rotors.

I think the shop used cheap hard pads, the reason I'm thinking that way is first the guy tells you your rotors are warped and need to be turned so you say go ahead and then he claims that the brakes are squeaking because the rotors are glazed.
If he surfaced the rotors they wouldn't be glazed.

Every time I have had cheap hard pads put on during one of those brakes deals you see advertised the brakes squeek

Just a little update. So went up to Big Bear yesterday to do some boarding. On the way down the truck did not rattle/shake while braking. But I did get a scent of brakes burning, but I figure it was the big rig in front of us. On surface streets the brakes did squeal while coming to a stop. So far I have put 395miles since the brake job. We'll see if they squeal on the way home.

(edit) What I meant to say was, On surface streets the brakes DID NOT squeal while coming to a stop. (edit)

They did not squeal home after work. Maybe the ride down the mountain might of broken in the pads. Lets hope.

if they start to squeal again.....gonna need to take it back apart, have the rotors turned and sand the top layer of the pads off and start over.......rebreak them in.

if you have a jack and jack stands, and some wrenchs,sockets...you can diy....easy man. then take the rotors somewhere to have them machined. if you need to call me....i can help you over the phone with the steps to get the brakes/rotors off the truck.

my brakes are squealing like a sumbitch now.....................hmm,could it be due to the crazy hill climb/rocky trails we ran this weekend??:D:D:D i was riding my damn brakes pretty good for a while.....they were getting pissed at me a bit. gonna pull the pads and sand them a bit tomorrow!
