I am new here, looking to get my first toyota and its going to be a tacoma!
This forum looks great, going to read and ask some questions before I buy, I have been shopping around for the last couple months. I am in BC, Canada and I will be hunting down a farely new or brand new 4x4 4 door...gonna need bigger tires and a bit of a lift of course for my back country excursions! Just 4 inches at most, but definetly bigger tires and some nice rims to go with them!

Welcome to TW from the East Coast. 4 inch of lift on a Tacoma do look good, but above 3 inches the lift become somewhat different. Quite a few TW members in BC with good advise. Good luck in your project. $$$ :mudding:and have fun wheeling.

Is there a year to avoid with the 4x4 tacomas, I like a 2008 off road trd loaded, used gives me extra money for upgrades! Just wondering if I should go 2009 if 2008 has lots of bugs thanks!

    Welcome!

I wouldn't call anything with the tacomas a "bug" but they all have their quirks. People complain about the wimpy leafs in the back alot. Overall they are pretty good.
