I am trying to replace a warped rotor on my corolla, but the rotor on the driver side is stuck. I've tried everything, i hit it with a mallet clockwise, i put wd40, but nothing works. It's stuck on I cant get it off. Any of you had similar problems with any cars? I'm having trouble and any help would be appreciated!

    Thanks

Clean the hub where it mates to the rotor as much as possible

Heat the rotor with a torch(nothing too crazy) and give it a BIG hit with a large hammer

Put the weight of the car on the rotor and give it a big hit. Thread a couple lug nuts on so the rotor can't move very far and damage anything

I have lowered them onto the ground slowly to get them off in the past. Maybe it will work for you. I would do that as a last chance type thing though.

I've used all of these methods. But usually I just use rust penetrant and a BFH.

Don't know about the Corolla, but I've had two vehicles that had a bejesus size screw that held the rotor on (besides the lugs). Also, if I'm replacing the rotors, and I can't get them off, I'll just hammer the crap out of them from the inside, alternating sides with the hits.

Hitch and wiring, aux back-up light, rear strobe lights, radio and underseat sub.
Corollas have sealed hub bearings and no nut securing the rotor. Put penetrating oil on the center ring.Hitting the outer circumference of the rotor with a solid hammer(2-5lb) in alternating and rotating positions will free up the center of the rotor. Intermittantly hitting it in and outward will help free it up as well. The rotor will be unusable after this procedure.

Just as an aside, you might want to put on ear plugs. If you use a solid hammer, it makes a hell of a racket, and can give you quite a ring in the ears.

After almost 40 years it still is a obnoxious noise. More fun when they split in half...
