What are some inexpensive choices for a .308 Win rifle? It can be bolt action, lever action, pump, semi-auto, or even single shot.

And I'd like to be able to shoot a lot of rounds in it and have it generally be my beater gun. Accuracy doesn't have to be top notch.

Bolt: Stevens or Savage. Cheap and accurate.

    Semi:
Saigas in 308, as-imported, were $400 or so until recently. Cheap and reliable. Looking more like $700 now.

Now? Maybe a CETME? They're more $$ all the sudden too though.

Marlin XS7 or XL7 or Stevens 200 probably the best for $, but if its just a beater gun look at the saiga sport AK, but I think they just come in .223,5.45x39, and 7.62x39

I'd rather have a stevens, man. The 770 is basically a disposable gun - it's built so that the barrel and stock are next to impossible to replace. Your cash though dude - I'm just a guy on the internet. :D

I have a Remington 600 bolt action I've been using for years as my main deer rifle. Accuracy is great, never had any issues with it.

I have a Remington 7600 pump in .308.. Out of all my guns, it is by far my favorite shooting and most comfortable. Definitely my "go-to" gun. Not sure what they run for price though

Much better barrel and action for the price. Should group good, and will feel very high quality for the price

    ^ I agree with this.
I have a Weatherby Vanguard, which is the same exact rifle as the Howa with a different name stamped on it. Love it. It's a little heavy. That's my only complaint.

Weatherby Vanguard's are the best for the money if you are looking for a bolt gun. You can usually get them for between $350 and $450, guaranteed sub-MOA at 100 yards.
