do you plan on cutting the stock 2.5" off? welded in or slip over?

well the end of stock is 2.5 and behind that is 2.25 so depending on wich kind ur looking at u can base ur decision on that, they have universals that fit over both no need to cut anything.

honestly a welded tip is best looking but, something like this will work depends on the outlet size u want, this one is 3" i run a 3.5 i love it, is ur muffler stock?

    http://www.amazon.com/Superior-28-6202-Stainless-Bolt-On-Exhaust/dp/B000CPAW2O/ref=pd_sim_sbs_auto_1,

heres what a 3.5" tip looks like, keep in mind i just stuck it in there just for sound purposes, i know looks stupid and mines resonated for a deeper tone since i have a magnaflow muffler. Its welded on now.

well some say no some say yes, honestly for me yes there was, rolled edge tips are supposed to "deepen sound" and resonated tips are supposed to take rasp or high pitch sounds out of the exhaust. the larger u go with the tip size generally speaking it will deepen the sound however if u have the stock exhaust it will barley be noticeable if at all. my resonated tip did deepen the sound a little bit, noticable but not too much and only reason for that is to make the 2.7 not sound like a civic haha. a regular tip will be fine for your application.

i found a dealer selling toyota slip on exhaust tips on ebay...
it was part number PT18A-35090, TRD slip on stainless tip with a clamp (no trd logo). around $50 shipped

its not a bright stainless finish, more of a matte.
when i held it in my hands i felt like i wouldnt like it, when i put it on the truck i thought it looked great. it slips on very tight, they include a bushing and clamp that are keyed with the tip so they dont move. They get wrenched down with a 15mm bolt to around 40 foot pounds. the whole set up seems very beefy and a bit over done, which i liked. the clamp hardware is well under the body, so you cant see it. the tip matches the tail pipe diameter perfect so looking at it, its hard to tell its a slip on. I installed it at night in my garage, so i didnt get any photos.

tips will not change your exhaust note.

The one you linked to Amazon above will slip over the outlet? I measured mine (stock) at 3 inches; unless I misread it, it seems it's going to be a tight fit if this tip is 3 inches in diameter....not doubting you, just wanting to double check before I ordered it.

    Thanks.

Sir, that is too kind of you. I haven't received a PM yet, but I assure you that I'll not accept it without some type of payment to you. Very, very generous, and I'm truly grateful!

I had an oversized tip on my truck and it sounded great with my flow master. Then I sawed it off an now it sounds quieter.... Thinking of getting a new tip too!

I too have one from Toyota. Easy to put on, the hardware is hidden unless you really look, and I think it looks great.
