I'm finally purchasing my first ever new vehicle and I'm glad it's a Tacoma. After a lot of back and forth I'm getting a '12 Tacoma SR5 Double Cab at 100 under invoice. Decided to get it over the TRD Sport to save $$ toward other mods (lift, rims/tires, tonneau cover, etc.).

Hearing lots of good things about Tacomas, glad to be a part of it - hope to keep it for years to come.

Hoping to install a 3" body lift shortly after the purchase. I'll dig into some other forums about that. Hope to install it myself as well. If I can sell the 16" alloy rims and tires that come with the truck, I might get new rims right away. Otherwise I'll have to wait a few months.

    See you around

Welcome to TW!!! You might want to reconsider the body lift. Go for the suspension lift instead.

Why do you suggest a suspension lift over a body lift?

welcome aboard! enjoy the ride, but hide the wallet.

and ditto on the no body lift, looks like sh , well you know

You need to do a lot of research on what your lift options are, but please wait on doing the body lift till you are more aware of the other options

cool thanks for the suggestion - i'm a dude who researches anything like this to death - i think ive spent the past week researching and trying to decide if i should get a TRD Sport, Offroad, SR5, or TX Pro depending on the sale price. decided to go with the SR5 since it was 100 under invioce.

Anyway - ill look into lifts a bit more. thanks for the link.
