Here is what I tow regularly

I am pulling the 5500 dry, 6000+ loaded trailer. I now have 9 trips from 1.5 - 3 hours each way. I feel very comfortable towing. I know it's there but comfortable. I have not actually gotten the trailer weighed when loaded. However we are lite campers.

-Only taking clothes we need for weekend
-Getting food when we get close to camp.
-We don't carry any water in the tanks.
-at least half of the storage is not used
    -rear leaf tsb was done
    -load E tires
-Reese dual cam 12000 round bar hitch
    -prodigy p3
    - dodge ram mirror swap

All is well until you get into trouble with some thing that out weights the trucks ability to provide traction to a sliding trailer. Will it pull 6500# yes will it do it well no. Rule out any hills towing that kind of weight even my 3000# loaded camper is down to 3rd gear on any long steep east coast mountains (6spd.)

Find a friend with with a trailer that you can max out with some rocks up to the 6500 lbs. Drive around and see how it feels.

This last week I have made a few loads of some dirt/rock at about 6000 lbs trailer and load together. It sure feels like it owns the truck.

For a quick trip to the dump its no big deal. Going for a few hundred mile camping trip would be another thing.

By the time you load it up water and all the other camp junk it would be easy to blow through that 700 lbs.
