so i got a 2012 tacoma. i am getting the icon upper control arms and front coilovers with the swaybar spacer and icon rear shocks. but i found a great deal on general grabber 33x12.5x17 and i am going to run method racing the standard wheel with some black lug nuts. i am not going to be doing offroading the only time i will be hitting the dirt is when i put up to the track. i will have 2 bikes in the back. so how much trimming will i have to do? i hope not a lot, but i am just looking for some help. thank you for reading and hoping you guys can answer my question.

Sounds like a similar suspension to mine, but with bigger and wider tires. 33s or 285s usually don't rub much and some people have had success with adding Spidertrax spacers. But being that you plan to use 12.5 wide tires and without knowing the backspacing on the wheels you plan to use, I would think you will probably rub before you hit full lock. A cab mount chop and some plastic trimming might be enough to alleviate most rubbing. But that is a wide tire to try to stuff under there.

    yes, it will rub.
each vehicle is different, you may only have to trim a little bit of plastic, or you may need a cab mount chop. it varies.

Thats gonna rub pretty good. You're gonna end up doing a quite a bit of chopping on the front side of the fender. The cab mount wont be AS BAD as without the UCA's but you're likely gonna hit it pretty good. Get a cab mount chop and be prepared to hack your fenders. For reference, most of us do 285/70's which on a 17 makes its a 11.2" wide tire. You're adding a whole half inch to both sides. The worst is probably going to be when you're backing up over a rise.... thats when I rub bad.

Just finished putting 285/70/17 w/ 4.5" back spacing and I knew I had to body mount chop, which was easy, but trimming you have to figure out as you go. Definitely when going in reverse while turning is the worst. Dremmel is your friend while trimming. The pinch weld I cut instead of hammering, actually easier. Hind site being what it is, I would in the future remove the plastic completely, do all the trimming, then reattach with .5" sheet metal screws tight against your trimmed areas, for a finished look.

ok thank you for all of the help. so i just found out that they make a 275/70/18 which do you think that would be better. and would i have to do as much trimming and cutting?? i would stell be running the method racing the standard wheel. hopefully this will be better for me
