This evening I went to Home Depot to grab a few items.
Upon pulling into the parking lot, I noticed a guy standing by his Silverado (with both doors open & hood up) and some grey smoke slowly creeping out of his dashboard.
After spending 4-5 minutes inside, I made my purchases and saw this as I climbed into my Tacoma...

    Moral of the story....
    DON'T BUY A CHEVY.

That could have been anything from an aftermarket power wire for an amp not installed correctly or a cigarette ember. It's not the brand but how the owner care's for the vehicle.

No telling what the problem was, but that Silverado is at least 6 years old... that's a GMT800 body style... Roughly 2001 to 2006.

 i’m going to say their was a short of some kind. i know quite a bit of people that own chevy. my one cousin has 2 a 1500 and a 2500. my uncle has had 2 or 3. other cousin has one. also most the wildlife resource trucks are chevy. those spend a lot of time off road. never seen or heard of one on fire. the wildlife trucks have blue lights and winches, radios.

i’m just saying. that out of all the chevys i have seen. this is the first i have seen on fire. so i think some wire was loss or a short of some kind.

We have an 86 Toyota at work with an unfused 4AWG cable running from the battery to the liftgate. The boss is aware of this. He does not care.:)

I will post pics when it burns up!:D
