My radiant red shows swirl marks and any imperfections in the sun like crazy.

Iv waxed it twice with nu-finish and it still looks like crap while in direct sunlight.

Iv waxed many vehicles before but none have looked like this. In the evening/night it looks great and you cant see any imperfections.

    Anyone else having this issue?

You may have a single stage paint with no clear coat. It looks rather dull ( oxidized ) in your sig picture.

Check out Adam's Polishes. For starters you need paint correction. So start by throwing away the nu finish. Invest in a porter cable or flex machine polisher. They are random orbital which makes it difficult to burn paint. They will help remove swirls Wash, clay bar, then use Adams paint correction polishes. This will remove swirls. I would then put some sealer on then wax. Autogeek has several products and info as well. I recommend Adams for simplicity and quality sake.

I use Adams polishes and I beat on the paint of my truck yet there products still get people walking up telling me it looks like it rolled off the lot yesterday and for an 07' with 100k and never being garage kept with constant thrashing off road at the hands of a 19yr old. Adams polishes will make your paint look like pure secks. It's worth every penny you pay.

I had a 2008 mazda3 in maroon. The swirl marks definitely showed more in the sun.

I have the same issue with my super white. I bought the Meguiars DA polisher 2 days ago along with Meguiars DA paint correction kit. I'm gonna try it out this weekend. Hope it makes a difference.

If theres swirl marks it just needs a good polishing. If theres scratches I used 3M rubbing compound then I use a 3M machine polish to start, then a 3M ultrafine machine polish, then finish it off with 3 coats of a good quality wax. I use a 3M foam pad to apply the polish and do the wax by hand.

Heres my gf's Jetta that looked horrible before I started, it's a 09 and I swear it's neevr seen polish or wax before.

I'm over due but when I detail... I wash it with Meguiars ultimate wash/wax using the 2 bucket method and a soft micro fiber mitt, Dry using large microfiber towels (regular bath towels are too rough and will scratch the paint/swirls), Clay bar with Meguiars smooth surface clay kit, Meguiars ultimate compound rubbing polish with a 10" orbital polisher (i don't have a buffer :( ) with a microfiber polishing bonnet... Then finish it off with Meguiars ultimate liquid wax...

These pictures are 3 months after the detail was done... Just always hand washed with microfiber towels/mitts and Meguiars ultimate wash/wax.

You should be able to minimize swirls coming back and not have to do as much paint correction. Are you using 2 bucket method to wash your truck?

    Stock for now.
I don't like the 2 bucket method IMO. I don't see the point of dipping the mit in dirty water and then the soapy wateR. I just rinse the mitt off before I put it back into the soapy water.

I'm more of a hand Polish and wax Guy. Takes forever compared to using an orbiter, but makes Sunday afternoons that much better whenever football season over :D

Try to do a full detail twice a year
