    Hi everyone,

Was doing archaeology today and almost didn't make it out.. the monsoon rains made a section of the road (a little longer than my truck) a mud hole.

I'm not sure if I would have made it out without the Yellow Wire Mod, you can see the rear tires kick me out once I step on the gas. Thanks everyone, this site is rad.

Nice! You're due for some real tires. Especially since you're out there doing field work.

Thanks guys. I'd hate to chuck the tires before they wear out (at 35,000 miles), but I guess when you factor in the cost of a wrecker and the peace of mind, $1000 isn't bad. :) I'm sure the mud wouldn't have been that dramatic, at least for me, either with bigger/better tires. But all said and done, I'm really impressed with how far bone stock has taken me, even with tires that get 20 pages of negative reviews and recall notices on google.

Good call on the mudflaps, remove both front and rear?

Granted, I've taken the Dungflops through some stuff that they were never designed for as far as rocky terrain. They handle it well, but they will let me down eventually. I could probably get another 20,000 - 30,000 out of them, but for piece of mind I'm getting some new rubber for my birthday.

I keep 2 full sets of built wheels and tires. 1 is the OEM Dungfloppers which is used during the sping and summer when I am rarely in low traction situations so that I can get better mileage. 2nd set is OEM wheels wrapped in Toyo MT's which I use in fall and winter (hunting and ski seasons) when I am routinely in snow, mud and off road chasing critters.

You'd be shocked how cheap you can buy OEM wheels for. I purchased my BRAND DAMN NEW set of Off Road Alloys for $50 total ($12.50 each) from Les Schwab when I bought the Toyos. People trade in brand new wheels all the time when customizing their rigs; dumb by them = smart by you.

    Look into it.
