I've decided to buy a 2013 DCLB 4x4 Sport Pkg. I don't really like, however, the tires that come with the TRD Sport package--they look too much like passenger-car tires to me....

Have any of you had luck with your Dealer swapping-out the 17" Dunlops (I think they were Dunlops) for some of the more aggressive looking BFG's that come with the Off Road Pkg? (I think I'd like the 16" better anyway--no real "wheeling" but will do a lot of back country unpaved roads).

Have any of you had good luck finding buyers for the new stock rims/tires? I would think the market is flooded?

Or should I just not worry about it, buy what I like (aftermarket), and hope someone will eventually want my new and unused 17 wheels/tires?

    Thanks in advance...

The BFG's on the OR package are known on this forum as the Rugged Fails. They are really not much better than the Dunlops on the Sport. The 17" wheels are just fine for off-roading, tires are just a little pricier.

The tires in the Sport are definitely crap for anything other than pavement. Mine were terrible in snow and sand. But as mentioned the tires that come on the OR aren't great either so I wouldn't bother trying to get the dealer to swap unless they would give you BFG AT's. If you like the sport wheels I'd just go and buy your own tires. I ditched my stock tires and wheels after a year.

Good info... Dealers get all messed-up when one starts being creative... I'm just not sure I want the silver alloys on my color selection (pyrite mica).. I kinda like the black or some of the 2-tone wheels.. too many choices!

Many people powdercoat their stock 16" Off Road or 17" Sport wheels with great success. Black seems to be the most common option but Anthracite looks pretty nice as well.
