I have been researching a while now, but cannot find an answer to my question. Hoping someone here can help.

I want to squeeze some 285-75-16 on my 04 double cab. I currently have 265-75-16s with zero issues.

In the front I have 5100s, with 883 springs holding up an arb bumper and synthetic line winch.

In the back I have a wheelers AAL, about 1.5" of lift.

Has anyone fitted 285's on a truck like mine with similar suspension? Issues? I am sure I have to chop some stuff, but I want to figure that out before I go and buy them.

I'm sure you'd rub at full turn or at least with articulation + turn. I would stay with the 265/75. I've had both sizes on both of my Tacomas. I prefer the 265/75 to the 285/75. If you're looking for clearance, consider the 255/85. 285s look nice, but IMHO, their isn't a significant performance gain. I'd argue the 265/75 handle better in the snow. Good luck!

A lift, some wheels, some tires, some performance, some cosmetic and then audio.
Like stated 285's will rub and you will need to trim. You will also need wheels spacers cuz the tires will be to close to the UCA. Stick to 265. No power loss and no trimming.

Thanks for everyone's comments. I think I am going with the 255-85. Overall they seem like they will provided better performance and give me even more clearance than the 285s
