Hey guys - I can't seem to find the answer to this specific question.

Looking to pick up some FJ wheels to replace my 17" sport wheels. Curious if the TPMS will transfer?

    Anyone done this swap?

    Cool thanks guys.

One more question, looking for some opinions.

Looking to sell the stock tires/wheels once I get these new ones...Should I re-mount the tires on the wheels w/o the TPMS and try to sell that way, or keep them separate and sell separate?

    What do you think?

That would be hit and miss since someone might want them for their 1st gen Tacoma which doesnt have TPMS in the first place so they would probaby prefer them already mounted but then you might get a guy with a 2nd gen that does have TPMS and would prefer them separate so they can add their own TPMS to the wheels.

This is very good logic, but i would personally mount them no matter what. Even if the 2nd gen guy needs to install his tpms sensors, you only need to break down the outer bead to remove or install sensors.

    Good advice guys thanks...

Still debating this move honestly - I'm having a hard time swallowing going down a size in wheel. We will see how it goes.

I moved the TPMS over to the FJs. No problems. Discount Tire did the whole thing to include recalibration for my truck.

If you transfered sensors there would be no recalibration. If you paid for that, they took your money for nothing. Plus they cant do that anyway as you need to use a techstream to reprogram sensors.

Actually got that info from the dealership before going to DT. Will have to look at bill. Thanks.
