2012 steelies on 1st gen center cap fitment problem…

    Picked these new take-offs form a co-worker for cheap. Not sure if this has been addressed before, thought I’d offer my experience/fix.. Only issue is the center cap prongs wouldn’t allow the cap to stay on. the oem SS tabs are .023 thick. I found some (.022)SS banding material we had here at work to make-shift some straps cut to 5" long. I would think another alternative would be hose clamps or similar. To remove the originals I bent the tip of the banding material and shoved it down. Facing in seems to work better. i pried (not pulled) them out with a pair of vice-grips. inserted the fab'd up ones, bend accordingly, remove, cut to length, install, then tape in place.
