First off, great forum! I've lurked here for a while doing my pre-purchase homework. Pick up my Base RC 8/18 and had the Access Limited cover and Popnlock on it within 5 days, using the TW discount at truckalterations. Do the intermentant wiper mod next then probably wait until the crappy Dunlops burn off (are they really as bad in low traction as the consumer reviews state??) before I do mild off-road mods. As a former Land Rover(s) owner (2004 Discovery & 1972 Series 88) I've done a lot of wheeling and hopefully got that out of my system (and checkbook). Just plan to upgrade tires and add sliders. I saw that a group was heading out to Shoe creek last weekend and was tempted to tag along (done that and Big Levels many times)but I ended up working.
Anyways I love my Base RC...it's all that I wanted and none of the stuff I don't need in a truck and a hell of a lot more comfortable as a DD than a 40 year old Rover! Here's some pics (don't kid me about the steps, they'll come off as soon as I get the sliders)btw, sold the Rover to pay for the Taco. Looking forward to letting my tools gather dust for a while!

Nice truck man. I love the LR, I wish I had a RHD diesel defender 110.

Nice truck! my favorite color too, if i had to get a brand new one that would be my color of choice hands down.

and yes, the stock tires absolutely suck IMO.
